An Ohio policeman accused of plotting to break into the home of Sarah Jessica Parker's surrogate mother admits that he met a tabloid journalist to discuss a deal, but had no intention of carrying theplan through.
Police chief Barry Carpenter is one of two offers being investigated over claims they planned to break into the home of Michelle Ross, the woman who is carrying SJP's twins. The men allegedly hoped to gather information on Michelle's lifestyle to sell to tabloid magazine The National Enquirer.
While Barry insists that he's innocent, he admits that he did step into the pregnant woman's house after noticing that her door was ajar. He claims he only entered the property to ensure everything was in order, but walked away empty-handed. Barry confessed to meeting with a reporter, but says he only intended to 'mess with him and jerk him around'. The investigation continues.
