She's the queen of romantic comedies, but Cameron Diaz's latest big screen role strikes a very different note.
The blonde star plays the mum of a girl with leukaemia in My Sister's Keeper, which she was busy launching this week in New York.
In the heart-wrenching tale, adapted from the book of the same name by Jodi Piccoult, Cameron plays a former lawyer, who has an in-vitro genetically-matched baby to enable her older daughter to survive through bone marrow donation.
Cameron,who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, was on bombshell form at the film presentation in a one shouldered white dress teamed with a pair of metallic and nude peep toes. She finished off the look with a lick of scarlet lipstick.

Audience members - unable to hear the music - had to try to guess which of three songs Cameron,was dancing to by interpreting her moves. Looking on, host Alexa Chung said: "There goes the ass!" The Charlie's Angels star was then revealed to have been dancing to Beyonce's Freakum Dress. Sofia Vassilieva, her co-star in upcoming flick, My Sister's Keeper, also joined in the fun on the daytime talk show. Alexa, 25, debuted her MTV show earlier this month, billed as a replacement for the network's influential series TRL ,which went off air last year 2008
Cameron Diaz showed off her cheeky side as she flashed her bare bottom on The Tonight Show. The actress was a guest with Conan O'Brien on the same day she received a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
After talking about her new film My Sister's Keeper, the stunning 36 year old actress sat down on Conan's couch to watch a performance by Peter Yorn. After the song Don't Wanna Cry was over, Cameron skipped up on stage to give Yorn a hug. But millions of U.S. viewers got an extra bonus when the lightweight material of her dress flew up, exposing her backside and knickers!
