Actress and environmentalist Daryl Hannah was cautioned by police after taking part in a protest against mountain top mining in south west Virginia.
The Kill Bill star was among 31 people who were arrested after blocking the road to a coal processing plant. They were released after being cautioned for obstructing an officer and impeding traffic.
"There is no need to destroy our planet to power our future. I have been using renewable energy for about 20 years, so I know it works," the actress told protestors.
The group were objecting to a controversial mining technique which involves blasting the summit of a mountain with explosives to expose underlying coal seams.

Tennis ace Martina Navratilova is the subject of a lawsuit from her former lover, who has filed a claim seeking millions of dollars after the former Wimbledon champion ended their eight year relationship "without warning".
"My life came crashing down," 56 year old Toni Layton says in the lawsuit, which was filed in Florida this week. "I was kicked out into the streets with only the clothes on my back."
As well as reportedly locking her out of the six multi-million dollar homes they shared, Martina is alleged to have refused to return posessions which Toni claims belong to her alone, including six cars, a speedboat and two jet skis.
The lawsuit claims the couple who married in an unofficial, private wedding ceremony - agreed to "evenly share (50 per cent/50 per cent) all funds and assets earned and obtained by either while together".

The blonde star plays the mum of a girl with leukaemia in My Sister's Keeper, which she was busy launching this week in New York.
In the heart-wrenching tale, adapted from the book of the same name by Jodi Piccoult, Cameron plays a former lawyer, who has an in-vitro genetically-matched baby to enable her older daughter to survive through bone marrow donation.
Cameron,who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week, was on bombshell form at the film presentation in a one shouldered white dress teamed with a pair of metallic and nude peep toes. She finished off the look with a lick of scarlet lipstick.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers seems to be in hot water with airport officials for the second time in his career, after he reportedly got into it with French police in Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport while drunk.
The AFP reports that it all started when the star of The Tudors was refused a drink by a bartender at Le Quotidien because Jonathan appeared drunk. After another bar employee tried to break up the confrontation, Jonathan allegedly punched him.
According to reports, Jonathan yelled, "You wanna hit me? Hit me!"

Jessica Simpson has confirmed she's heading back to reality TV to study beauty around the world. the country singer is returning to MTV for docu-series The Price of Beauty, which will launch in 2010.
For the show, Jessica will travel the world to meet pop culture icons and ordinary women in a bid to uncover beauty secrets. 'I have always believed that beauty comes from within and confidence will always make a woman beautiful, but I know how much pressure some women put on themselves to look perfect,' she says.
Jessica will serve as executive producer on the project, alongside her manager father Joe.

Madonna is planning to take daughter Mercy James to see the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem. Madge recently adopted four-year-old toddler Mercy James from Malawi, and now it is she wants to take the youngster to see the wall as an introduction to her Jewish faith Kaballah.
The trip has reportedly been planned around the final date of the star's Sticky And Sweet tour in Tel Aviv in three months' time. A source said: "Madge wants to give Mercy enough time to settle in to her new home. "By September, she feels she will be ready to take the trip without danger of upheaval. "The Wailing Wall is a very sacred place for anyone with links to the Jewish faith and she wants all the children to see it."

A troubled Chris Brown was ordered to serve probation and the kind of community service that will get his "hands dirty" after he entered a guilty plea to assaulting Rihanna before a preliminary hearing. Brown's pleading guilty to assaulting singer Rihanna averted the courtroom drama of her testimony.
The pair have also been ordered to stay away from one another - an order that the judge made clear was two-way. Their paths did not cross but Judge Patricia Schnegg's order is for a 50-foot distance to be kept between them at all times apart from at industry events, when it could be reduced to 10 feet. Schnegg commended Brown. "I think it's commendable you took responsibility for your conduct," she told him. She also expressed reservations about him not being a California resident and told him that he would likely be able to do his community service in Virginia.

The actress was signing autographs in London's Leicester Square when a boy desperately tried to give her a white rose.
But Megan, 22, insists she didn't see him.
'I feel so sad for him,' she tells Collider.com. 'That's so terrible. That kills me. There were, like, 80 million people everywhere.
'It's dark, all I see are flashes. Everyone's yelling different things...and I didn't know that was happening.
