The Austrian fashionista -the alter ego of British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen- donned the stylised armour and arrived with a trusty white steed for the Australian movie premiere of Bruno at Sydney's State Theatrelast night.
However the red carpet was hijacked about half an hour before Bruno's arrival with a publicity stunt for a fast food chain.
A Bruno impersonator, accompanied by six models, temporarily fooled security by arriving in a pink Hummer and then pouring tomato sauce all over themselves before they were physically removed.
It was all cleaned up, however, by the time the mockumentary filmmaker made an entrance, announcing: "Vassup, Sydney?"
Bruno stopped traffic and caused mob scenes when he arrived for the premiere.
