Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs has tied with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen to top the U.S. box office both grossing $42.5 million.
Ice Age 3 follows the likes of Sid and Manny as their jungle home becomes inhabited by dinosaurs. In recent years the Ice Age franchise has become a real hit and this number one spot comes off the back of the prequel, which grossed over $651 million,back in 2006.
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen continues to dominate cinema screens around the world as it's weekend gross has taken the film's U.S. total to $293 million, in just two weeks.
